About The Member

Karen O’Connell graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 1984 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She went on to pursue her MBA with a major in marketing. For 15 years, Karen worked for an insurance consulting and administration firm, first in Fredericton then in Toronto.

In pursuit of a creative outlet, Karen enrolled in a night school drawing class.  One class led to the next, and, before long, Karen finished at the top of her class at Seneca College, receiving a certificate in Interior Decorating in November 1999. A member of the Canadian Decorators Association (CDECA), Karen taught interior decorating and design classes for four years through York Region Board of Education Continuing Education.

Not satisfied with dabbling part-time in decorating and design, Karen decided to make a break from the corporate world and pursue her bliss full-time.
